This year my Kindergarten student was looking forward to making an Easter Hat for her very first Easter parade. Thankfully the local Aldi store came through with the goods – a pink hat and lots of fun craft accessories.
Check out what we found:
Chickens, Rabbits, Pom Poms, Pipe Cleaners and feathers.
Once we had the supplies ready to go, it was time to crank up the hot glue gun and get making!
I was in charge of the hot glue gun, but this design was all hers! She’d point, I’d put down some glue, and she’d position her chicken/rabbit (being careful not to touch the hot glue of course!).
To keep the little brother occupied while big sis made her Easter Hat, he was tasked with creating a table centrepiece. The base is a paper napkin from the dollar store, and he was given some things to create his own design.
The feathers were tucked into the ribbon around the hat brim. Pom Poms were glued around the top and base of the hat to complete the look.
She was pretty happy with the result and it shows!
Easter Hats Inspiration
Before we got started, we had a look at Easter Hats on Pinterest for inspiration. Quite a few stood out but here’s our favourites. I’ve included the link for each Pin so you can go check them out for yourself.
